Choose your browser while you can

Face it, the era of desktop applications is coming to an end due to the growing request and development of Web apps, thus now “old school” programmers are morphing into system engineers and Web developers are in fact the new programmers.
Browser competition, carried on by the possibility for the user to choose the one which best fits their needs, sure is one of the main reasons of this growth. What would happen if this choice was denied? One thing is for sure: the time of Web applications has just begun and will keep growing, so the OS producers will have to deal with it soon or late, ‘cos ain’t no one of ‘em gonna win a browsers cold war so soon…

Now if something like this happened in the OOT, I would think about it in a much different way.
